Love and Godliness
What are you looking for?
“If it is any encouragement to you, (1) a godly man (2) who has his priorities straight (3) isn't going to be concerned with your physical situation. I can honestly say that I would not be off-put even a little bit by someone with a physical disability. (4) I am looking for a (5) godly heart.” – being kept anonymous.
That’s an encouragement definitely. What comfort that brings to women like me, who have no physique to boast off or at least doesn’t feel attractive, and at times feel the temptation to resort to drastic measures to get a guy (Oh yes, ate Thess too).
Now remember, the writer of the paragraph above spoke of (1) “a Godly man”, not a bum, an atheist or some random guy wasting his life on vices and offerings of this world.
Now, girlfriends, don’t we often suffer and get heartbroken because we poorly choose our men? Most of the time, with no standard at all, as long as he’s got courting skills and good with words, we give in.
Should we then just go for anyone who is a Christian? Well, are you sure he is? Anyone can profess being something and fake it. Know him well, more than weeks, months, years if possible, know his life, know him. (2) “who has his priorities straight.” Does he have direction?
But you say, guys like that are exceptional and look for exceptional women too, beauty with brains. (3) “isn't going to be concerned with your physical situation.” Don’t forget, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. What might be attractive to me might not be to you We women tend to think all men like us tall and in a certain way but believe it or not, some basketball players (interviewed) prefer petite and short ones. And while some like girls with pale, whiter skin, some would die for the brown ones. As long as you’re clean and you don’t stink, you’re fine.
So what’s a “Godly man” who doesn’t give much importance to looks want? (4) “I am looking for” – More than just God and living a God-pleasing life, they get lonely too. So what do you have to do to be in their line of sight? Possess a (5) “Godly heart”.
Before we get obsessed with our outward appearances, look inward and work it outwards. After all, who we are, (In the eyes of God and eventually in the eyes of others) is what would really matter the most down the road and through the years.
Choose right and take it slow.

One of them should be that the potential mate should have the same calling as the other. It is not enough that they are both "good" christians.
