Love thy tormentor

The “Love” month is on its last few days so before we bid it farewell, let’s be reminded of Jesus’ command.

John 13:34
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

Love isn’t just about romance; it’s also about God, family, friends, people. It’s about you and another human being.

I know that not all is loveable. It’s hard to love those who treat us badly and there are those who don’t BUT still difficult to understand even just to get along with but what does the Bible say?

Luke  6: 32-36
32 “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. 35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. 36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Acceptance is loving, encouraging is loving, sacrificing is loving, giving is loving. It may be hard to practice at times (I’m saying this to myself too) but let’s think when we love our fellow men, we are loving God and obeying His commandment.

Love your enemies. It’ll drive them crazy.” – Erwin Cabalang via Facebook
