Valentine's Day Trip

I'm baaaack!

So how is everyone doing? Did you all have a splendid Valentine? I was out of town, on a trip with the family (yes, with a fiberglass wrapped leg). We went up north (Baguio - the summer capital of the Philippines to those not in the know.) and went to the different tourist spots there like 'Burnham Park, SM Baguio, Botanical Garden, The Mansion, Mine's view, Wright Park, Camp John Hay, Strawberry field", to name a few. Yes, we went to all of them.

Baguio is like a city in the mountains, about 6,000 feet above sea level.

To those who haven't been to Baguio,. here's some trivia about the places we went to and are in the following picture. Let's see if I have any talent in tour guidance.

BURNHAM PARK - A park for picnics that has a lake where you can go boating. It was 12 C when we arrived at the park, It was one of the reasons we went up there, to experience real cold weather,
BOTANICAL GARDEN - Has different plants, flowers, showcases the culture and products of the Benguet and Ifugao tribes.
MINE'S VIEW - View of an old abandoned mine.
SM BAGUIO - A mall. Because Baguio is cold all year round, this particualr mall has no aircontioning and on the rooftop, you can see all of Baguio,
THE MANSION - The mansion is the presidential Baguio vacation house. This is where the Philippine president live when he/she is in Baguio.

We went down to Dagupan around evening, holding on to our seats and everything as the car went through steep zig zags with very little visibility and finally reached the plains again around 10 pm and rented an apartelle for an overnight stay. The next day, we went to visit  family frienda and former churchmates and headed for the beach. They paid for the cottage and provided the food.

So despite of the accident that happened a week before and the cast that I have now, I had an awesome weekend with the family on Valentine's Day AND did I have someone special in mind last 14th? Of course! (winks)
