Tell it as it is

“Honesty is the best policy.”

Communication is a vital ingredient in any relationship. Whether it’s between friends, family or lovers, often, it’s the “talk” that makes or breaks it.

How else can two people know each other more if they didn’t talk? Better to talk more than less and hide the truth. People drift apart for the lack of it or bond if kept in regularity.

Communicating is more than just “talking”. Communicating is getting your message across and making sure you’re being understood. You could be spit firing 100 words per minute but if you’re failing to really say what you mean, you can’t get to the point then you’re just rambling, not really communicating.

Communication is two-way, an exchange, a sharing and giving of words, of understanding and accepting.

Honesty is an important part of communication, being able to tell what you feel as it is. You can’t expect the other person to guess what you’re thinking or what’s in your heart if you’re not verbalizing it. Saves you and the other person a lot of confusion and wasted time if you just say what you want to say. Misunderstandings are often products of miscommunications.

So tell it as it is, make it clear then leave it to the other person on how he/she will take it. At least, you were honest, give yourself credit for that.
