Dealing with a stalker
Since I just posted a “stalker song” from my last post, I’m thinking why not post an article about stalking.
Stalking is defined as "the willful, malicious and repeated following and harassing of another person".
Stalkers are not your usual friendly admirers. They’re dangerous people, don’t play or take them lightly. They can get to the point of harming you. Whether it’s a simple net, phone or real-life stalking, it’s still not normal.
How much harm can he do to you? It depends on why he's stalking.
1. You jilted him and he just wants to get back at you by inflicting fear and annoyance and making your life miserable.
2. He’s obsessed with you and he’ll do anything to win and get you.
3. He’s demented and you caught his fancy.
If it’s case #1, it would probably not last. Once he meets someone he likes again, he’ll shift focus and you’ll be off the hook. If it’s net stalking; you can block him. Chat and email programs are configured to have the ability to block unwanted messages. If he’s a seasoned computer genius and can hack you, the worst thing he can do is steal your passwords and have access to your emails and personal files and delete them. So you better have a good firewall and anti virus software.
If it’s case #2 and 3, now those are different stories. If it gets too out of hand, there’s threatening or invasion of privacy or worse, damage of property, report to the police even if you don’t know who’s stalking you.
