Why men need God
1. They have dominion
Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
Genesis 2:19 Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.
First, man was created in God’s image and should then represent God. Second, he was given dominion right from the beginning – over the livestock, over all the earth and creatures that move -. Do we realize the power of that privilege and the responsibility that goes along with it?
2. They lead
They are to be leaders. To teach, instruct, govern NOT boss around others. And in marriage, we, women, are commanded to submit to them, they will not be just our protectors and head but also our instructors when it comes to spiritual matters. And as leaders, should have high moral standards and live according to God’s laws.
3. They are the stronger gender
They’re physically stronger and can use that to abuse, control, inject fear and inflict injury to their advantage and get what they want, and many do so, sadly, without God.
4. They are to love like Christ
Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
- With respect, faithfulness and gentleness.
5. They are weak
They are more prone to temptation, especially, sexual temptations regardless of their status (single or married) and they need the strength from God (that can only come from earnestly seeking to please and obey God’s commands and the empowering of the Holy spirit) to be able to stay in control and be morally upright.
Note: Just a few of the many reasons why it’s important for the men to have a loving, father-son-like, relationship with God. And those that genuinely do, find security, confidence and joy with Him and have more peaceful, long lasting and fulfilling relationship with us, women.
