Men hurt too

We associate tears with women more than men. But underneath those tough exteriors are also human beings needing love, understanding, and holding, like everyone.

Suicide places no.8 in the “Top 10 men killers” I recently posted on this blog whereas it’s not even in the “Top 10 women killers’ list. Why? I suppose it’s because it’s harder for men to express feelings. So they keep it all inside until they implode. This study just shows men can be emotional too about certain things they truly value.

Unlike us women, we can cry it out and talk it out. Men have a different way of trying to communicate their pain and often, we misread them. It’s different for each guy so it’s important to know ‘our’ man, to be observant and to understand that they too, like us, have feelings that can get hurt, pride that can get bruised, needs that if met accordingly (I mean, spiritual, moral and emotional support – NOT Pre-marital sex, I just had to stress that) will help contribute to their well-being.

So don’t get fooled by those big shoulders and false bravado, there might be a very lonely, pained soul hiding behind all that mask trying to reach out. Remember that men hurt too.
